"He spent his early days on the farm, and in early manhood learned the blacksmith's trade. After becoming of age he worked at that business about sixteen years in this town. In 1863 he engaged in trade and continued at that business for fifteen years, when he sold out and again went into blacksmithing with his son, which business he is now following."
"Mr. Budge has been Town Treasurer of his town, and constable."

15. George Bartlett Budge (Francis Haynes , James , James ) was born ¹ 15 Feb 1828 or 14 Jul 1828 in Levant, Penobscot, Maine. He died ² on 6 Jan 1909 in Anson Township, Chippewa, Wisconsin.

His right arm was broken as a child and set by a doctor who was drunk. As a reault it was practically useless. He becam a school teacher, librarian and later a scaler (estimating board feet of cut logs) and a farmer. (James Budge and Allied Families)
