Nathaniel Haskell born at Hampton Falls N.H. Feb. 14, 1742 died in New Gloucester, Me. Feb. 14, 1794(see grave stone in ancient cemetery New Gloucester Me. His wife was Deborah Bailey who died in New Gloucester Me Feb. 16, 1816-aged 62- He married her in Falmouth Aug. 30, 1763.

Nathl Haskell: Appears with rank of 2nd Lieutenant on a Billeting Roll of Capt. Moses Merrill's co., Col. Edmund Phinney's(31st) regt. from April 24, 1775, the date of his enlistment, to the date of marching to headquarters, July 5, 1775, equivalent to 72 days.

Nathaniel Harscal:
Appears among a List of Officers as Ensign in Capt. Moses Merrill's co., Col. Edmund Phinney's regt. Recommended by Council Oct. 6, 1775 to be commissioned by Gen. Washington.

Appears in a Return dated Falmouth, Dec. 9, 1776 signed by Col. Jonathan Mitchell and Col. Timotyh Pike, field officers in Cumberland Co. of the officers appointed to command various companies drafted from the militia in accordance with order of the General Court to serve under Col. Reuben Fogg- Rank, 1st Lieutenant in Capt. Richard Maberry's co., raised in Windham, New Gloucester and New Boston.
